Solo adventure ~ Caye Caulker Jan 2020

I stayed one extra day in Central America and took a ferry to the island of Caye Caulker. It was a 45 minute boat ride and it was a 5-mile long island. The motto of the island is "Go Slow" and it is all dirt with no cars. You walk, bike or take a golf cart.  I absolutely loved it and wish I could have stayed more then one night.

The Caribbean has the prettiest water

The water was so clear you could see the fish!

Fun stuff in Belize ~ Altun Ha, Lamanai and cave tubing

We took a day trip to Altun Ha and cave tubing in between building the library and went to Lamanai the day after the opening of the library. So much Mayan history in the many caves of Belize!

San Lazaro R.C. School Library ~ Dec 2019

We spent several days pulling the library together with a catalog system. We started with concrete floors and walls and donated hundreds of books, several computers and a lot of hard work to paint the walls and make it look inviting.  The kids had never had a library so they came every day watching us work and wanting to read the books. We took time to walk through the village and read to kids and their families. Truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. So rewarding and very humbling.
